Norah O’Donnell is known for wearing Chance by Chanel.
In this article, we are going to talk about Norah O’Donnell and what perfume she wears.
Norah O’Donnell is the second of only two women to anchor CBS Evening News without a co-host in its 72 seasons. Simultaneously, Norah was made Managing Director for the same television news show in July of 2019. She also continues to be a regular contributor for 60 minutes, the 52-year-running CBS show. Norah O’Donnell is surely one of the most successful women in American journalism.
Norah has won two Emmys in her more than two-decade-long career –one for her work involving sexual assaults at the United States Air Force Academy which won her the Outstanding Investigative Report in a Newscast category in the 2018 Emmy, and another in 2009 as part of NBC News’ 2008 Election Night coverage team for the category, Outstanding Live Coverage of a Breaking News Story – Long Form.
Her career in journalism has led her to interview powerful political personalities from all over the world including US presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump.
Norah O’Donnell was the first to interview South Korean President Moon Jae-in when he was in office in 2017. She has also met and interviewed the likes of His Royal Highness Prince Harry of Wales (now “just Harry”, with her lovely wife, Meghan Markel), Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai, Joe Biden, and the Dalai Lama.
Her interview with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is quite significant as no other political leader from Saudi Arabia has given interviews on American television networks since 2005.
Faced with incredible responsibilities as a news anchor and journalist, she is also included on the board of Directors of the International Women’s Media Foundation. The svelte news anchor believes in the importance of empowering women, especially in the workplace. Norah O’Donnell is definitely a powerhouse and Norah does all of it with sophistication, confidence, and grace.
So, what perfume does a successful and glamorous woman like Norah O’Donnell wear?
Norah O’Donnell brings you the latest in current events with Chanel Chance as her fragrance. Just like her, the scents that come from the House of Chanel are straightforward and timeless.
Chance by Chanel was released in 2003. It is inclined to the floral and fruity family of fragrances. With pink pepper, jasmine, and amber patchouli, the perfume is a combination of floral and spicy tones sustained by musky vanilla notes. The scent opens up with a sexy and rich first impression and dries down to a somehow powdery, animal-ic scent.
It is for the sensual, unapologetic woman who seizes the day. Chance complements the woman who gets things done. There’s a reason why Norah O’Donnell was drawn to it. Wear it on days you’d want to feel bright and confident. It leans more toward a daytime formulation but it’s also warm and sensual enough for evening affairs.
The Eau de Parfum (EDP) has a great projection but the spicy notes don’t last so long. You’ll enjoy about 4-5 hours of the bright tones and then it leaves you with a soft, discreet dry down.
The House of Chanel didn’t stop with the timeless scent of Chance. It has now come up with three more fragrances in the line meant for dazzling and strong women like Norah O’Donnell –Chance Fraiche (2007), Chance Eau Tendre (2010), and Chance Eau Vive (2015).
If you find the previous version of Chance too soft or faint, this will be the better blend for you. Out of the three new scents, Eau Tendre has the fullest concentration and is a bolder sister to the first Chance fragrance. Eau Tendre is still suited to strong, confident, and independent women. You just now have a formulation that’s even fuller-bodied.
The second and only other Eau de Parfum in the Chance line, Eau Tendre carries on with the romantic floral notes Chance is known for. It remains to have that charming introduction with grapefruit, quince, and rose accord, but is the richer version of the earlier Chance scent with creamy tones of vanilla combined with jasmine and iris.
The bright fruity notes fade after a moderate amount of time but the musk at the end is more intense compared to the original Chance parfum. Just like its name, it is tender and delicate when it dries down. There is a deeper sillage to this and it leaves a good impression in its trail. You’ll surely get compliments when you’re wearing it.
Out of all the Chance fragrances, Eau Tendre has the best concentration. Eau Tendre with its sparkling yet delicate and elegant notes is best worn for romantic date nights and lavish affairs. As the house, Chanel says, “Wear it when you want to be kissed”. It does dry down into a quite gentle scent throughout the day, but the projection is pretty dense at the start so don’t spray on too much when used as a daytime scent.
