10 Best Versace Perfume in 2023

Versace’s range of luxury perfumes are some of the most sought-after scents in the world, but which are the best? You’re about to find out. We compiled a research-backed list of the 10 best Versace perfumes you can purchase in 2023.

When one thinks of Versace, glamour comes to mind. Every Versace design is lavish, luxe, and to some, even ostentatious. But this flashy display of glamour has won the adoration of millions worldwide.

Versace has positioned itself as one of the most recognizable brands in the world. It has over 200 boutiques worldwide, distributing its goods to over 1,500 wholesalers—particularly its perfume.

Versace has released over 75 notables perfumes. So, where do you begin? To narrow down these choices, we did the research and testing for you. Through our detailed notes, you will be able to make a smarter and more successful Versace perfume purchasing decision.

Now, let’s dive into the world of Versace fragrances.

About Versace perfume

Founded in 1978 by the late Gianni Versace, this Italian design house became a sensation overnight. It stood out amongst the competition for its strong and fearless designs attracting the attention of famous people like Elton John and Princess Diana.

Versace skyrocketed into fame because of its consistent use of celebrities in advertising campaigns. Madonna, Britney Spears, and many other uber-famous stars have been the “face” of Versace over the years.

Everything the brand releases is a reflection of its trademark style. Versace items are bold, lavish, colorful, dramatic, and opulent with a flair for innovation. Many of its most iconic pieces were made from unique materials like aluminum, rubber, or even safety pins. In short, Versace items make a bold statement.

But, Versace isn’t just famous for its gorgeous fashion empire. In 1997, Gianni Versace was shot and killed on the steps of his Miami mansion. His death shook the fashion world, and no designer has been able to accomplish what he did in such a short time frame. In 10 years, Gianni built an empire worth over $807 million.

When it comes to Versace, one only needs to remember that Versace’s creations are unmistakable. Its fragrances are symbols of what matters most to the brand: family heritage, a love of tradition, and a pursuit of provocation and passion that never ceases to push forward.

Versace pushes the envelope in fashion, and its fragrances do the same. The brand claims to deliver an “olfactory dedication to excellence.” Let’s test that.

1. Versace Bright Crystal EDT

With a name like Bright Crystal, this Versace fragrance exudes luminosity and transparency. Launched in 2006, Versace Bright Crystal is a floral and fruity fragrance for women.

It was formulated by the world-renowned perfumer, Alberto Morillas, who has won multiple prestigious awards in the space. His inspiration for Bright Crystal was to create a softer, more feminine version of the already popular Versace Crystal Noir (more on that fragrance later).

This pink-colored perfume embodies the feminine Versace woman who is strong, confident, sensual, and as always, over-the-top glamorous. The name says it all. This perfume is bright and sheer in nature.

What does Versace Bright Crystal smell like? It’s a fresh, fruity, and floral scent consisting of juicy top notes like Pomegranate and bright Yuzu. The middle hosts floral Magnolia, Lotus, and Peony notes while the base concludes with musks like Amber and Mahogany.

According to us and these feminine notes, Versace’s Bright Crystal floral fruity scent is most suitable for females. So, what did we think of this fragrance?

Experts’ score by personal preference:

Top: 7

Middle: 7

Base: 8

For the first 20 minutes, notes of pomegranate, magnolia, and lotus were clear and obvious. There also seemed to be a milky note within the combination.

About 30 minutes later, yuzu began to appear, but pomegranate, magnolia, and lotus remained the most potent key smells.

Two hours after application, it smelt soapy and floral. Its base note was overall quite sweet. It felt soapier and sweeter than Versace Bright Crystal Absolu EDP (more on that fragrance later).

During the 6th to 8th hour of wear, the scent almost disappeared entirely. However, a very light musk appeared in the 8th to 12th hour. Amber didn’t show up to me.

  • Longevity: 8.5 hours
  • Projection: Moderate
  • Best season for wear: Spring and summer
  • Time of day: Both daytime and nighttime
  • Suitable Occasions: Work or on a date
Pros: This all-purpose fragrance delivered unexpected longevity and a cozy base note.
Cons: Not very recognizable, this perfume does not change much between its top, middle, and base notes.

Ideal for both day and night, Versace Bright Crystal’s mild base notes offer an all-purpose fragrance. Its femininely sweet and floral scents lingered for over 8 hours but never came off too strong. This makes it a great option to wear to work or on a casual date. In short, it’s sensual and delightful and will appeal to a wide range of women.

2. Versace Yellow Diamond EDT

Newer than the last perfume on our list, Yellow Diamond by Versace was launched in 2011. This was in fact an evolution of the Crystal perfume collection since “a crystal turns into a diamond.”

Yellow Diamond is a fragrance fusion inspired by the two elements within its name. Diamonds are pure, transparent, and airy while the color yellow is intense, feminine, and sparkling. It smells just like that.

The yellow color is meant to cast the intoxicating feeling of summer and sunshine. Its canary yellow, sparkling bottle and baroque-inspired packaging are true to the Versace brand and style.

Yellow Diamond is a perfume designed to warm and enchant the senses, leaning into an intense Mediterranean refinement.

Yellow Diamond was structured to smell like an Italian summer, exuding top notes of floral Bergamot, Diamante Citron, Neroli, and summery Pear Sorbet. Middle notes of fresh Jasmine, Freesia, and bright Orange Blossom dazzle over a base of Musk, Amber, and Palo Santo.

We believe this fragrance choice is most suitable for females, as the brand originally intended. Its notes are more feminine in nature and celebrate this magically.

Experts’ score by personal preference:

Top: 7

Middle: 7

Base: 8

Within the first few minutes, citrus and bergamot were the major notes, but quickly pear sorbet appeared and became the most notable.

Water lily and freesia appeared after 20 minutes, along with a little bit of mimosa.

After 30 minutes and until the 2nd hour, citrus notes with freesia were abundant.

At the two-hour mark, a light amber smell appeared. Then 30 minutes after that, musk began to appear.

During the 4th to 8th hour of application, musk was the keynote. The scent became warmer than before and faint freesia gave off a sweet smell. I personally preferred the flavor at this stage the most.

  • Longevity: 8 hours
  • Projection: Between moderate and intimate
  • Best season for wear: Spring and summer
  • Time of day: Both daytime and nighttime
  • Suitable Occasions: Work, date (cause not too strong)
Pros: This yellow perfume is truly all-purpose offering a cozy and warm base note that’s approachable.
Cons: It had weak projection overall since the middle notes remained very light.

Resembling a summer spent in the Mediterranean, Versace Yellow Diamond is a go-to perfume for the warmer seasons. It can easily transition from work during the day to a casual date at night because it is mild and not overpowering. It’s a versatile fragrance that gives off a magical, approachable, and warm sunny feeling—with the hint of glamour, you want from a Versace fragrance.

3. Versace Bright Crystal Absolu EDP

If you love Versace Bright Crystal, then make room for this Absolu version. Bright Crystal Absolu was released in 2013 because of the wild popularity that its predecessor attracted worldwide.

In short, Absolu is the stronger, more intense version of the original Bright Crystal fragrance.

Versace perfumer Alberto Morillas cracked the code with his original scent. Absolu was a response to Versace customers’ raving reviews and dire demands for a more powerful version.

This formula was enhanced in intensity and longevity with newly added notes to accomplish this. Appropriately, it sports a more fiercely pink jeweled bottle, too.

Its top notes remain the same with Yuzu and Pomegranate, but with the addition of Raspberry. Both its middle and base notes match the inspirational formula with florals like Magnolia, Lotus, and Peony and earthy Amber, Musk, and Mahogany.

The intensified Versace Bright Crystal Absolu is most suitable for females—and perhaps those who love to take center stage and draw attention to themselves.

Experts’ score by personal preference:

Top: 7

Middle: 7

Base: 8

At first spray, peony and raspberry were the more obvious scents, along with a little white musk.

About 30 minutes later, the yuzu note appeared (just like in Versace Bright Crystal EDT), but peony remained the overall keynote.

During the 1st to the 3rd hour of wear, it alters to a soapy floral.

Its base note gives off a sweet taste and is a little more floral than Versace Bright Crystal EDT, in my opinion.

From the 6th to the 8th hour, its scent almost disappears entirely. Then, an obvious musk starts to appear between the 8th and 12th hours of wear. Again, the suggested amber notes never showed up on me.

  • Longevity: 9 hours
  • Projection: Between moderate and intimate
  • Best season for wear: Spring and summer
  • Time of day: Both daytime and nighttime
  • Suitable Occasions: Work or on a casual date
Pros: It is an excitingly feminine scent that’s flexible in wear with impressive longevity. Its sweet, yet cozy base notes are appealing.
Cons: This scent is not entirely unique and does not change much throughout its top, middle, and base notes.

If you love Versace Bright Crystal, then Absolu is everything you want it to be. Absolu was set up for success because it’s just an amplified version of a beloved scent, pleasing all who desire a stronger experience of it. Wearing Absolu is perfect for spring or summer thanks to its floral and sweeter nature.

4. Versace Pour Femme Dylan Blue EDP

In 2017, Versace released Pour Femme Dylan Blue to the world and it has been turning heads ever since. The scent alone is marvelous and casting supermodel Bella Hadid as the face of the ad campaign further amplified its popularity.

According to Donatella Versace, Dylan Blue is “a tribute to femininity. It is a strong, sensuous, refined fragrance created for a woman who knows the power of her sensuality and mind.”

Its curvaceous bottle is a tribute to the provocative Greek culture and mythology that inspired Versace since its genesis. The rich blue color resembles the deep and mysterious Mediterranean Sea. It also is adorned with gold accents like many iconic Versace fashion items.

This elegant fragrance is unique and more recognizable thanks to wild blooms and other rarer notes. Created by perfumer, Calice Becker, Pour Femme Dylan Blue went on to become an Allure Best of Beauty award winner.

So, what does Dylan Blue smell like? It opens up with top notes of fresh Black Currant and then envelopes a bouquet of wild blooms in the middle. Its woody base notes add vibrance to the feminine scent through earthy Patchouli, Styrax, and White Wood.

Subjectively, we think Dylan Blue’s alluring notes are best suited for females. It was designed to be “powerful and seductive,” and upon testing, its notes remained on the sweeter side leaning into its feminine inspiration.

Experts’ score by personal preference:

Top: 7

Middle: 7

Base: 7

At first smell, Dylan Blue is a grassy floral. Then, black currant and apple quickly take over to become the keynotes adding fresh sweetness.

Just 20 minutes later, a very sweet rose smell appeared with a delightful little peach sorbet. Both delicate and interesting.

About 30 minutes after application until the 3rd hour of wear, I felt that black currant and rose were the major notes, as the sweet rose faded out slightly.

At the 4th hour, a little benzoin kicked in relieving the sweetness.

Then at the 6th hour, the general sweetness faded out and turned to musk.

My final thoughts were that Versace Pour Femme Dylan Blue EDP is sweeter and offered a better projection than Versace Yellow Diamond EDT.

  • Longevity: 8 hours
  • Projection: Between moderate and strong
  • Best season for wear: Spring and summer
  • Time of day: Daytime
  • Suitable Occasions: Date
Pros: Dylan Blue offers a very linear sweetness. It’s best suitable for those who only want sweet notes and don’t want other notes coming through.
Cons: Its top and middle notes felt too similar and even the base came off as sweet, too. Some might get tired of that smell.

Pour Femme Dylan Blue is a beautiful scent that’s as alluring as it is sweet. We think it would be best enjoyed during the sunny daytime, perhaps during a romantic activity like a date. In conclusion, Dylan Blue is a newer Versace fragrance worthy of consideration to anyone who dreams of a sweet, Italian summer.

5. Versace Crystal Noir EDT

The sultry, sexy, and dark Crystal Noir is a warm and spicy aroma made for the traditional Versace woman. The color noir (black) is sensual, flattering, and mysterious while accentuating confidence. Black is a woman’s best friend in the wardrobe and so Versace made this parallel into fragrance.

Crystal Noir came out in 2004, making it one of the oldest perfumes on this list. Its age only makes it more covet-worthy as many later perfumes were inspired by this popular and beloved Versace scent.

Its scent type is “oriental” and floral so it’s unique in nature. Designed by the expert nose of Antoine Lie, Crystal Noir is part of the Crystal collection from Versace. It has attracted endless raving reviews online and is a favorite of countless women worldwide.

What is Versace Crystal Noir supposed to smell like? Its top notes are dark, sweet Black Currant, Black Fig, and Violet. Middle notes are full-frontal florals like Tuberose, unique Frangipani, and Jasmine. Then, deeper base notes of Sandalwood, Cashmeran, and Vanilla round out the fragrance.

Suitable for females, Crystal Noir is highly feminine. Its spicy notes leave a lasting impression, but it is considered sheer and light too.

Experts’ score by personal preference:

Top: 7

Middle: 7

Base: 7

When I tested Crystal Noir, the note table seemed distant. The first smell that hit the nose was sandalwood, but it soon faded out.

Within the first 10 minutes, it became a woody and floral scent ranging with hints of cardamom, gardenia, and even coconut. This combination smelt like a dessert; sweet but not decadent. It remained light and fresh on the nose.

40 minutes after application, other sweet aromas joined in. The promised vanilla pods and heliotrope appeared.

The scent remained very linear over the five-hour-long test. To me, the smell only changed once within the first 30 minutes, then it stayed the same until it faded away completely.

One commonality of the “Crystal” series is that there is a comfortable musk note along the perfumes, but Crystal Noir did not have it. The base was not musky, but rather very light with sandalwood and vanilla.

The formula uses many exotic flowers, all of which had a sweet note. When combined together, it gave Crystal Noir a fruity combination.

Its projection was stronger than Versace Eros (more on that fragrance soon), but I think the smell would feel different from varying lengths. Crystal Noir might smell more woody from afar, but more floral when nearby.

  • Longevity: 8 hours
  • Projection: Strong
  • Best seasons for wear: Autumn and winter
  • Time of day: Nighttime
  • Suitable Occasions: Date, nightlife

Crystal Noir is everything its name suggests. It is dark and strong and will help anyone who wears it feel more confident. It’s an ideal scent for women to wear for nightlife activities or to accompany them on a date. Its warm feeling would fare best during the colder seasons.

6. Versace Eros EDT

Launched in 2012, Eros is a popular Versace fragrance for men. As the bottle projects, Eros is deeply connected with Greek mythology and is meant “to reveal and release unrestrained passion and accentuate desire.”

Eros is the Greek god of love and the son of Aphrodite. Greece and its mythology have always been a large source of inspiration for the Versace brand. Its globally recognizable symbol is the head of Medusa. Eros ad campaigns even included male gladiators.

Donatella Versace describes Eros as “the DNA of the house” and was crafted by master nose Aurelien Guichard. It is bright and refreshing and yields sweet notes for a warm and unexpected twist to a men’s scent.

Refreshing Mint, bright Green Apple, and Lemon are the top notes of Eros, followed by middle notes of sweet Tonka Bean and Amber. Its base notes provide warmth, like Cedar, Vanilla, and Vetiver.

Eros was designed for men, but we find it suitable for both males and females. It is masculine in nature, but we think many women would love the confidence and light masculinity that this fragrance brings.

Experts’ score by personal preference:

Top: 6

Middle: 7

Base: 8

Upon first application, Eros EDT felt fruity and slightly sour. Note, this is interesting to me because the first notes of Eros EDP had a woody opening note.

After 10 minutes, Eros became even sourer. This is due to the sour fruitiness of the lemon and green apple, with a hint of geranium. To me, the mint was not very noticeable but still present.

About 30 minutes after application, the sourness faded out. Then, sweeter tonka beans became obvious with a little ambergris. To me, this stage felt lighter than Eros EDP.

Just 10 minutes after this development, vetiver became obvious. I also noticed a hint of vanilla.

About one hour and a half after the application, vetiver and vanilla took over as the keynotes. Cedar appeared shortly after at the two-and-a-half-hour mark.

My nose felt that the base note was pure wood and I barely sensed any oakmoss.

Overall, the projection was never overly strong. After 6 hours of wear, Eros EDP became much lighter while the projection of Eros EDT maintained strength.

Comparing the two, Eros EDT felt stronger than the EDP version. The longevity of Eros EDT was also longer than Eros EDP.

  • Longevity: 8 hours
  • Projection: Moderate
  • Best season for wear: All
  • Time of day: Both daytime and nighttime
  • Suitable Occasions: Work, daily use
Pros: Eros is a long-lasting and all-purpose fragrance because it’s not too high-profile of a smell.
Cons: Its theme was a bit ambiguous; keynotes were fruity, but only lasted 30 minutes until it evolved into a woody scent until the end.

Eros is the bottled portrait of the Versace man. However, because of its fruity front and woody finish, we think many women may enjoy wearing this all-purpose scent too. Eros is impressively long-lasting and can easily be worn all day and night long. It’s not overpowering, so Eros would make a nice daily fragrance year-round.

Versace fans loved Eros so much that the fashion house expanded the fragrance series with Versace Eros Flame.

What’s the difference between Eros vs. Eros Flame?

Eros Flame was released a few years after the original Eros in 2018. Its wicked red bottle is instantly appealing, giving it a more sinful and erotic feel than its deep, turquoise counterpart. If you enjoy Versace Eros, then we highly recommend you consider trying Eros Flame. Both are timeless, masculine scents but each brings something unique to the table.

Versace Eros Flame EDP

First of all, Eros Flame is truly an uncommon scent. At first, it smells of robust rose and rich sandalwood and then turns to vetiver.

About 90 minutes after applying, sandalwood and cedar become the keynotes and envelope you in a woody masculine fragrance. To me, the wood got stronger with time.

During the last two hours of wear, the wood scent burned into an incense smell. It was a firey, and seemingly appropriate, the finale for this blood-red bottle of perfume.

Compared to Versace Eros EDP, Eros Flame had better overall projection and maintained longer longevity. It’s stronger in wood scents, yet the feeling is lighter than the original Eros. On the other hand, Versace Eros EDP is sweeter than Eros Flame.

7. Versace Pour Homme Dylan Blue EDT

Dylan Blue isn’t just for women. Versace released a men’s version of this famous fragrance in 2016.

It was crafted by the talented nose of Alberto Morillas and is one of a kind for its aromatic, woody, and aquatic notes. Like its female counterpart, Dylan Blue Pour Homme is the masculine take on the Mediterranean.

Strong and still sensual, this deep blue fragrance encapsulates the summertime Versace man. It’s like an Italian summer captured in a beautiful, geometric bottle.

The men’s version of Dylan Blue opens with top notes of Bergamot and Grapefruit. Middle notes bring out more masculine smells like spicy Black Pepper and classic Papyrus. Understated and sophisticated base notes like Incense, Musk, and Saffron finish the unique scent.

As it was crafted for them, Dylan Blue Pour Homme is most suitable for men. Its composition is certainly on the masculine side but its summery additions lighten the scent.

Experts’ score by personal preference:

Top: 8

Middle: 7

Base: 6

Up front, saffron was the most notable note accented with a little incense.

One hour later, the keynote turned into ambergris. This is when a little bit of musk and ocean notes also appeared.

Then, the scent stayed pretty linear and never changed again. The scent felt very rich at first but it did not last long.

Upon the 6th hour of wearing Dylan Blue Pour Homme, the ocean notes were nearly gone and a little of everything else lingered.

In the final 7th hour, the scent evolved into a slight tobacco smell. This provided a cozy, masculine finish.

  • Longevity: 7 hours
  • Projection: Moderate
  • Best season for wear: Spring and summer
  • Time of day: Daytime
  • Suitable Occasions: Work and daily use
Pros: The beginning scent is great; it is a very recognizable male smell with a refreshing and smooth tone. It’s hard to go wrong!
Cons: There are hardly any changes throughout wearing Dylan Blue Pour Homme. Its base note is very light and might require frequent reapplication to keep the scent.

Dylan Blue Pour Homme is a tried and true classic from Versace. This well-balanced masculine fragrance is aromatic and smells like the European seaside making it a go-to choice for the warmer months. Its lighter nature makes it friendly to wear to work or even daily. Make a mental note, Dylan Blue would make a very nice present for any man in your life, too.

8. Versace Vanitas EDP

Versace Vanitas is another popular fragrance from the luxury design house on many perfume fans’ radars. Fresh and luminous in composition, Vanitas offers a floral perfume with other interesting side notes.

Vanitas was released by Versace in 2011 and was created by the respected perfumer Dora Baghriche. Versace enlisted (the then) 16-year-old Lindsey Wixson as the face of the Vanitas ad campaigns. Fresh and playful aesthetically, Lindsey portrayed the youthful elegance that Versace was chasing.

The layers of Vanitas’ notes may feel more basic than others on this list at first glance, but its sheer elegance and the timeless scent it offers are admirable. Vanitas is over a decade old, and still highly worthy of any modern perfume fans’ consideration.

Versace Vanitas opens the nose with top notes of refreshing Lime. Middle notes are a floral bouquet of Freesia and Tiare Flowers which blend beautifully into the base notes of Tonka Bean and Cedar.

Suited best for females, Vanitas is a lightweight, feminine Versace fragrance.

Experts’ score by personal preference:

Top: 6

Middle: 7

Base: 7

When I first sprayed Versace Vanitas, it didn’t smell like the standard fresh Freesia of other perfumes. It felt more mature with a sour floral note, but not a lemon-like sour. It was a fresher, sour floral scent.

About 20 minutes after application, that interesting freesia became the keynote, supplemented by the Tiare Flower. This stage started to feel a little citrusy sour, but this may have come from the top notes of lime.

After 90 minutes, all of the sour scents disappeared and the freesia remained heavy. At this point, the Tiare Flower had faded out.

The base notes of Versace Vanitas were sweet and floral during our tests. Its projection base note was strong.

About 4 hours after application until the 6th hour, the full embodiment of the scent was present.

From the 6th to the 8th hour, the scent was the strongest when compared to other Versace favorites like Bright Crystal Absolu, Bright Crystal Absolu, and Versace Eau Fraiche.

By the 12th hour (an extremely long time to wear perfume,) the scent finally faded. The only other scent that outstood this longevity triumph was Versace Bright Crystal Absolu EDP.

  • Longevity: 7 hours
  • Projection: Moderate
  • Best season for wear: Spring and summer
  • Time of day: Daytime
  • Suitable Occasions: Date and daily use
Pros: Versace Vanitas is a beautiful scent perfectly suitable for Freesia lovers.
Cons: The first 20 minutes of wear presented an acidic note that may be portrayed as old/too mature to some. Since the middle and base notes are sweeter, the sour top note may feel strange.

Versace Vanitas is a floral and elegant fragrance that is ideal to wear during the daytime. It would make the perfect complement to summer or spring outfits and activities and is light and smooth enough to be worn daily. It has a mature feeling, but this may bring extra professionalism or confidence to some wearers, making Versace Vanitas a nice option for days at the office.

9. Versace Man Eau Fraiche EDT

Its French name, Eau Fraiche, reveals what this Versace Men’s fragrance is all about. Meaning “freshwater,” this original perfume is indeed fresh and aquatic.

Many traditional Versace men’s fragrances have tobacco and oriental notes that lean into manlier, stronger vibes. Eau Fraiche is a reviving fragrance inspired by the Mediterranean Sea, containing water and woody notes.

Versace Eau Fraiche was created in 2006 by Olivier Cresp. It’s the perfect fragrance option for a man seeking a fresher option from the norm. The stunning blue bottle alone is a wonder, adorned with bubble-like spikes that offer a unique feel when using it.

What does Versace Eau Fraiche smell like? The top notes consist of bright White Lemon, Carambola, and Rose Wood. Tarragon, Cedar Leaf, and Clary Sage round out the middle notes. Its base is an earthy and woody blend of Musk, Amber, and Sycamore Wood.

Eau Fraiche was designed as a men’s fragrance, but its restoring and light nature makes it suitable for females as well. Perfect for the summertime, it can easily be enjoyed as a unisex fragrance.

Experts’ score by personal preference:

Top: 7

Middle: 7

Base: 6

At first, Eau Fraiche opened with a slight ocean note and feelings of white lemon and rosewood.

About 20 minutes later, cedar and white musk became the keynotes. The white lemon and rosewood continued to remain present, but only lightly.

One hour and a half post-application, white musk was still the keynote and the cedar base notes had faded out entirely.

All in all, the most notable base note in Eau Fraiche was light white musk. I didn’t sense any amber during my testing.

It did not feel as woody on me as I expected, but the majorly neutral scent of fresh white musk was light and refreshing and masculine enough.

The overall projection of Eau Fraiche was weak and its longevity is the shortest on our list of the 10 best Versace perfumes.

  • Longevity: 6 hours
  • Projection: Between moderate and intimate
  • Best season for wear: Spring and summer
  • Time of day: for both daytime and nighttime
  • Suitable Occasions: Work, daily use
Pros: Refreshing, neutral, and low profile, Eau Fraiche is suitable for anyone seeking a light fragrance. It could be ideal for newcomers wanting something under the radar.
Cons: The scent is not very recognizable and does not change much throughout the top, middle, or base notes. Its longevity is also a bit short when compared to other Versace options.

Applying Eau Fraiche is like dipping into the Mediterranean Sea. Light and refreshing, this Versace fragrance is the ideal summertime fragrance for men—or women—who want something sea-inspired. The airy musk is the perfect masculine base while its fresh, aquatic elements lighten its overall complexity. It is neutral enough for daily use, although its fainter projection and brief longevity may require reapplications to fully enjoy Eau Fraiche all day long.

10. Versace Pour Homme EDT

The final best fragrance on our list is Versace Pour Homme. Launched in 2008, Pour Homme is “the essence of pure masculinity.”

The nose behind Pour Homme is the talented Alberto Morillas. He designed his Fougere fragrance specifically for men, combining some of the best natural notes imaginable.

Pour Homme is bright up front with an earthy middle and classic warm base. It’s a masculine scent through and through but somehow it retains a light and neutral complexion making it perfect for summer or spring.

Pour Homme’s top notes are Diamante Citron, Bitter Orange leaves, and Neroli. Then, middle notes of fresh Clary Sage and Blue Hyacinth freshen and lighten the fragrance before richer base notes of Amber and Musk amplify them.

As the name suggests, this fragrance is most suitable pour hommes (for men). Its masculine scent is neutral and balanced, making it a lighter option.

Experts’ score by personal preference:

Top: 7

Middle: 6

Base: 6

When testing Pour Homme, the initial smell is a refreshing woody and floral scent.

About one hour after spraying, neroli became the keynote supplemented by musk and a little cedar.

Between the 2nd and 3rd hour, the overall scent faded out including the once strong neroli.

By the 6th hour of wear, the only scent that remained of Pour Homme was a little musk with a soapy presence.

Overall, the scent was very neutral and balanced. It is suitable for men who don’t like their male fragrances too strong or even women who like neutral/unisex fragrances.

  • Longevity: 7 hours
  • Projection: Moderate
  • Best season for wear: Spring and summer
  • Time of day: Daytime
  • Suitable Occasions: Work and daily use
Pros: Pour Homme is a neutral and all-purpose option for men. It is rare for male fragrances to have floral notes, so Pour Homme is unique.
Cons: Its base may be too feminine for some men. It’s a distinct, unique perfume and may not be loved by all men. The musky base is light, but not as refreshing as others on this list.

Versace Pour Homme was crafted to amplify the essence of pure masculinity. For any fragrance collector or fan, Pour Homme is a one-of-a-kind men’s fragrance. Its floral notes are unlike other men’s options and its neutral base makes it easy to wear daily. Pour Homme is perfect to wear during the spring or summer to relax, work, or do other daytime activities.
