What Perfume Smells Like Coconut?
Coconut by Demeter
Eternity Now by Calvin Klein
Versace Crystal Noir
Coconut has such an exotic scent to it. Its fragrance reminds us of three things. First, it reminds us of the time spent on tropical vacations by the beach, rubbing suntan oil all over our bodies, while breathing in the scents of coconut oil and the salty ocean.
Second, it reminds us of cocktail bars where drinks like Malibu and coke, and delicious, frothy Piña Coladas are enjoyed with lovers and friends.
Third, it reminds us of our mother’s cooking, where coconut macaroons and coconut cakes were devoured.
All these memories are extremely pleasant, and that’s why coconut perfumes are such a hit. They’re exotic, delicious, fun, and sexy. Let’s take a look at them!
What Perfume Smells Like Coconut?
Demeter Coconut
Coconut by Demeter is a fresh unisex perfume with the scent of coconut. It was released in the 2000s and falls under the Demeter Fragrance Library of perfumes.
The fragrance is captured in a bottle that is rectangular in shape, and translucent, with the name “Coconut”, spread across a brown banner. On top, is a long, cylindrical silver stopper.
Notes & Longevity
Demeter Coconut’s main note is coconut. Its main accords are coconut, sweet, lactonic, tropical, and vanilla. It has very long-lasting longevity and good sillage. This is the type of perfume to spray on when you want to smell like coconut all day.
Occasions
It is a fragrance to be worn mainly during the day, in spring and summer, although it would be perfect for Havana nights and humid climates, like Miami, where it would blend in well in night clubs.
It’s not the perfume to be worn in the office – at all! However, it is the perfect perfume to wear over weekends with friends, out shopping, and enjoying brunches together.
Don’t wear this on a first date either – unless it’s a beach date. It’s perfect to spray on over your sun lotion to the beach. Demeter Coconut is a great “lift-me-up” perfume to spray on when you’re feeling down, as it will give you memories of good times.
Eternity Now by Calvin Klein
Top designer Calvin Klein has been around for a long time, and so has his fragrances. Eternity Now For Men was released to the public in July 2015, 27 years after the original Eternity fragrance was introduced.
The cologne is captured in a large rectangular bottle and has a translucent rectangle-shaped stopper above it. It is a tropical smelling perfume that is clean and fresh, with a definite coconut-vibe to it.
Notes & Longevity
This exceptionally unique cologne opens up with tropical coconut nectar, ginger, and star anise. Its heart explodes with cedarwood, patchouli, and star fruit. In its base, rests tonka bean, warm Madagascar vanilla, and atlas cedarwood. Unfortunately, it has poor longevity and sillage and must be sprayed every 2-3 hours. Even so, it has a unique scent to it, and is well worth it!
Occasions
This is a fragrance unique in the fact that it is good for all seasons, day and night. It’s a very simple, clean fragrance that works perfectly for when you just get out of the shower.
It’s not the cologne to wear on a first date, but definitely is a cologne you can wear around your partner once in a relationship. It has a pleasant and nice scent, that is definitely a “crowd-pleaser”. Spray it on before a music concert or when shopping, or out with the boys to watch a sports match.
Versace Crystal Noir
Just the name Versace brings to mind designer haute couture, lifestyle products and top of the range fragrances. Versace Crystal Noir is highly regarded by perfumers as an outstanding perfume that gets many heads turning, as it is so sensual.
It is a floriental fragrance that came out in 2004. Its perfumer is Antoine Lie and it comes in a stupendous and avant-garde bottle that is seductively appealing with a coconut flair.
The color of the bottle itself is a warm purple, and the stopper is unique in that it is ellipse-shaped, exceptionally large, and looks like a dark purple amethyst crystal.
The Eau de Parfum is more popular than the Eau de Toilette version, as there is a slight difference in scent due to the fragrance composition.
Notes & Longevity
True to the color of its flacon, the perfume expresses itself with top notes of blackcurrant, delicious black fig, as well as violet. In the heart of this purple treasure, you will find tuberose, fragrant frangipani, and sweet jasmine. Its base will hit you in the most pleasant of ways, with notes of sandalwood, vanilla pod, heliotropin, and cashmeran, which has woody-musky notes to it.
This is a perfume with great longevity, between 8 to 9 hours in fact, and a great sillage. The Eau de Toilette version does not stay as long on the skin though.
Occasions
This is a warm fragrance, best for night occasions in the winter and fall. It is the kind of perfume you keep for special occasions, going to the theater, attending special ceremonies, even walking on the red carpet!
You can occasionally wear it in the office, but you will attract the attention of many men – and that’s great if that’s what you are looking for! It’s great to wear at night for a date or to spray on just before getting intimate with your lover.
What Perfume Smells Like Coconut? Creed Virgin Island Water
Creed is a niche perfume house that only catered to royals, presidents and their wives, and celebrities, before opening their fragrances to the public in 1970. The company has been in existence since as far back as 1760.
Virgin Island Water by Creed is a strong, coconut-smelling, unisex, tropical fragrance. It will remind you of sipping Piña Coladas in the Caribbean, and flirting with your lover, while the ocean runs across both your feet. In the background are coconut palm trees, blowing in the wind, providing shade.
This glorious fragrance came out in 2007, and its perfumers are Olivier and Erwin Creed. The bottle comes in the standard Creed perfume shaped bottle, which is rectangular and curved, with a strong blue stopper on top (some come with a silver version), denoting authority.
If you are a perfume collector, your collection will never be quite complete without at least one Creed fragrance, and you can’t go wrong with this coconut-inspired winner!
Notes & Longevity
Virgin Island Water will take you on a marine adventure, with top notes of coconut toddy, mandarin, bergamot, lime, and copra. In its tropical heart, you will find ylang-ylang, jasmine, ginger, and hibiscus. Deep in its base is a delicious cocktail of white rum, tonkin musk, and sugar cane.
How divine! You almost want to drink it – even better, pour it all over your body, which you can! It has good longevity, around 7 hours on the skin, with a good sillage.
Occasions
Virgin Island Water by Creed is a spring and summer fragrance that works best during the day. However, any climates that are warm and humid like Miami, the Caribbean, Tel Aviv, Hawaii, and so on, suit this fragrance perfectly at night.
Spray it on when having brunch with friends, or relaxing with a loved one. You can even wear it to special occasions that occur by the beach – including beach weddings! It’s also great for parties and nightclubs in tropical climates.
This is not, however, the fragrance to wear in a corporate office when you want to be taken seriously. Pair this fragrance with a floral summer dress, or a Hawaiian shirt, and you’ll be floating on a coconut cloud.
I would imagine that celebrities like Kevin Hart, Drew Barrymore, and Rihanna would suit this fragrance well. Spray it on, enjoy it, and turn your coconut beach fantasies into a reality!
